Until 1985 I operated a 2300 acre grain and livestock farm in the Tilden Illinois area (Randolph County). In 1990 I became a real estate agent for the local C-21 office, then in 1996 I switched to a Nebraska based company which was more farm oriented. In 1997 I began using the internet to market property. I soon added aerial photos, and the popularity of the site began to grow. In September 1998 I registered the name "buyafarm.com" as my personal web page. Since this time the internet has accounted for more than 70% of my sales and is growing rapidly. "buyafarm.com" has grown into "Buy a Farm Land & Auction Co. LLC.". Mark Kennedy, Todd Hewing, my daughter Brenda Koon and myself formed a company in the Summer of 2005 based on "buyafarm.com". |
