Omar has been around Agriculture all his life. He is a former crop systems Extension Unit Assistant for both Randolph and Monroe Counties. Before joining Extension, he worked for Alvey Laboratory in Belleville, providing soil testing and crop scouting services for farmers.  He was also owner/operator of a dairy farm.

Omar is also a Certified Crop Adviser. His Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture is from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
