Hi, I'm Wayne and until 1985 I operated a 2300-acre grain and livestock farm in the Tilden Illinois area.  In 1990 I became a real estate agent for the local Century-21 office, then in 1996 I switched to a Nebraska- based company which was more farm oriented. In 1997 I began using the internet to market property and soon added aerial photos.  A following soon developed and began to grow...

In  September 1998 I registered the name "buyafarm.com" as my personal website. Since this time "buyafarm.com"  has grown into "Buy a Farm Land & Auction Co. LLC.".  Mark Kennedy, Todd Hewing, my daughter Brenda Koon and I formed this company in the Summer of 2005 based on "buyafarm.com" and were soon joined by Joe O'Kane and Don Bailey.  We have since added several agents.

Although my first love is still farming (behind family of course) I have sold in excess of 40,000 acres.  Other interest are flying and photography.  As you can see below I sometimes combine them all.  I fly a Power Parachute, the safest way to fly.  Slow and low - the only way to go, although I have been at nearly 6000 ft. taking pictures of some larger tracts I have had for sale.  I do hire a plane much of the time such as when its windy, the farms are too far away or I am in a hurry.  Want to learn a more about Power Parachutes?  If so check out powerchutes.com or Easyflight.com .
