Here's just a quick history of my family
background. My great desire for the outdoors and hunting was stemmed
from my grandfather, who owned and operated a dairy/grain farm. He took
me hunting with him from little on and taught me all the basics,
including hunting safely. My parents' love was for horses, and we
raised/rode horses ever since I can remember.
I started out fishing and hunting small game (dove, pheasant, quail,
rabbit, squirrel, coyote and other small game). Then as I got older, I
became an avid and successful deer and turkey hunter. I have been very
fortunate to venture out West on successful hunts for elk, mule deer and
antelope. I am also a retired volunteer firefighter after 22 years of
service.
My son has evidently fallen into my footsteps, as he has similar desires
for the great outdoors and hunting. He harvested his first deer, an
8-point buck, at age 11. My daughter loves the outdoors, as well, and
now my son-in-law has taken up hunting. He also experienced his first
kill during his first year of hunting.
My wife grew up on a dairy and grain farm. Now that our kids are all
grown up, she decided to take up hunting as well....so it's now a family
affair. Needless to say, she is a true deer and turkey hunter. She goes
from high heels to camouflage....archery and firearm....and you might
say that she has developed "buck fever"!
I joined Buy A Farm in 2006, shortly after it was formed. I would
appreciate the opportunity to assist you in buying or selling a home,
farm or recreational land. |
